  • 2004–2008: Ph.D., Biological Institute of the Romanian Academy, Bucharest. The Ph.D.-thesis was defended at the Ovidius University in Constanţa. The title of the thesis: Ecological and faunistical study of the amphibians of the Târnava Mare Basin. Scientific supervisors: acad. dr. Petre Bănărescu and prof. dr. Dan Cogălniceanu.

  • 2004: coordinator of the „The factors affecting breeding habitat use of the amphibians from the Middle Târnava and the Upper Olt Valley” research project, financed by Declining Amphibian Population Task Force (DAPTF).
  • 2004–2005: member of the „ Amphibian and butterfly species inventory in the future Haţeg Geopark, Romania” research project, financed by Rufford Small Grant for Nature Conservation (United Kingdom), project coordinator: dr. Dan Cogălniceanu.
  • 2004–2006: member of the „The effect of the global climate changes on the populations of Rana temporaria in the Retezat National Park” research project, financed by C.N.C.S.I.S. (Bucharest), project coordinator: dr. Dan Cogălniceanu.
  • 2005: member of the „ The spatial distribution and status of the corncrake in the Târnava Mare Valley, Romania” research project, financed by the British Ornithological Union (United Kingdom), project coordinator: Cosmin Ioan Moga.
